Hearts on Fire Blog Hop!

Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all. I’ve been crazy busy promoting the latest release in my Woods Family Series, Surrounded by Secrets, but I’m taking a little time to join in the blog hop fun to help celebrate the release of Victoria Danann’s The Summoner’s Tale (Book 3 in the Order of the Black Swan). This hop has some major prizes available—ereaders, books, and gift cards, oh my!—so be sure to hop along for your chance to win.

Since it’s Valentine’s Day, let’s talk about memorable gifts we gals—and guys!!—got on this special day. I’m sure we’ve all had those years where we were shafted and sang along to Bon Jovi’s You Give Love a Bad Name. Great song, by the way, but I’m not digressing. I actually sang along to it on Valentine’s Day and for a very good reason. One year, my then-fiancé (now ex-husband) surprised me with tickets to see Bon Jovi live in concert on Valentine’s Day in another state. This was very special to me because seeing them live was on my bucket list. When I was eleven years old I’d begged my parent to let me go to their concert—it was the year Cinderella opened up for them for those of you who remember—and needless to say, my request was denied. I’m sure I threw a big tween fit at the time, but I have blocked the horrible specifics of that rejection from my mind. I did, however, call my mom from the stadium that Valentine’s night to tell her I was finally getting to see Bon Jovi live. She already knew, of course, but she did say she was glad to be finally vindicated from all those years ago. That man and I have since split ways, but I can’t fault him for making a very memorable Valentine’s Day for me.

Okay, I showed you mine, now you show me yours. Comment about a memorable Valentine’s Day and I’ll pick someone to win Book 2 in my Woods Family Series. Book 1, SURROUNDED BY WOODS, is free right now on Amazon, so go grab it! And don’t forget to hop along and visit everybody else who’s participating!

  1. Right after my breakup from my son’s father, my son would have been about 4 at the time, his class in Pre-K had made Valentine’s and he came home and created a Valentine’s Card from himself and our Pug stating that my two little men loved me and it was signed complete with paw print. That was almost 11 years ago and I still have it! Thanks for the chance to win, I love your work and The Woods Series 🙂

  2. My favorite Valentine’s day memory was the first year my husband & I were together. We were still dating. He surprised me with a dozen & half Roses, a giant card, and dinner out for the evening. I was shocked and loved it. I still have some of the rose petals from my flowers that year with a picture of the two of us together with my roses.

  3. My favorite was three days after we got engaged, we spent a weekend in Denmark, and stayed at a great hotel, drank champagne and ate pizza LOL
My favorite way to spend Valentine´s is at home with my hubs, a glass of red and downtime in the sofa.
    Happy Valentine´s!!

  4. I wish mine would gift me with Bon Jovi tickets (I love love lovvvvvve them) oh sorry got off topic LOL.

One year my hubby came to my work, with roses and a big heart balloon.

  5. I have never really gotten a truly fantastic or memorable gift. I love that my husband takes me out for a very nice dinner without the kids.

  6. Thanks for the giveaway! I’ve never experienced my heart being on fire by a person but I have read good books that have done it! A good romantic novel is “Outlander” by Diane Gabaldon. Jamie is heroic and handsome and Claire is intelligent and beautiful. Their romance is EPIC and is composed of a true emotional connection between characters!
    Happy V-Day!!

  7. I haven’t found a true love yet; so no positive story to share! I just had a quite dinner with my Mom. My true love will show up some day; until then, I will share my book that I last read again for at least the third time, The Reluctant Dom by Tmyber Dalton, Kaden and Seth both are strong Dom’ s; the book is superb, heart wrenching emotional!
    Thank you for the contest!

  8. I have to say the most memorable valentine’s day I had was a couple of years ago when my boyfriend at the time surprised me with a proposal! It was so romantic! He said we were just going to stop by a jewelry store to pick something up for his mom. While we were there he had me try on a ring…I totally adored it and he said “I’m glad, because I bought it already. I love you. Will you marry me?” So sweet! Sadly it didn’t work out with us…but that will always be a great Valentine’s Day to me!!
    Thanks for the hop!
